Objective

The main aim to launch this scheme was the empowerment of the citizens by providing employment. The former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, C Rangarajan suggested the idea to mold the employment opportunities available in the state for those who are unemployed. The construction and maintenance of state assets will not only employ those in need but also contribute to the development of the state. This scheme is somehow much similar to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee program (MNREGA) which ensures basic earnings to those who manage to survive in the cities without jobs. All this will result in better sustenance and civil immunity for such workers.
