Launched by Gujarat CM, Shri Vijay Rupani, Manav Garima Yojana is a scheme introduced to empower the Scheduled Castes community of the state. The poor community suffered adversely during the unprecedented times. A nationwide lockdown cut down the sources of income, which made their modes to earn livelihood more scarce. Keeping this in mind, the Gujarat Government launched the Manav Garima Yojana to uplift the economic conditions of the community financially by granting Rs. 4000 to the eligible beneficiaries.

Gujarat Manav Garima Yojana 2022
Under Gujarat Manav Garima Yojana, financial aid of Rs. 4000 is granted to the people belonging to the SC community of the state of Gujarat. The scheme has been proposed to benefit the community amidst the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. New local businesses to be set up will generate more employment opportunities. This will help the people to recover from the losses during the pandemic.
The scheme is regulated under the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Gujarat. The department ensures the development in the economic statuses and empowerment of the deprived sections of society.

Amidst the nationwide lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the poor strata of the society suffered adversely in terms of financial security and support. Shri Vijay Rupani, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat thought of a solution to help the poor. A scheme called Gujarat Manav Garima Yojana was introduced to help the people belonging to the category of Scheduled Castes within the state. The Government of Gujarat initiated this scheme to empower and strengthen the economic conditions of the SC category citizens.

The major benefits of Manav Garima Sarkari Yojana initiated by the Government of Gujarat are-
- The government will extend financial assistance of Rs. 4000 to each eligible beneficiary so as to encourage them to be independent and self-reliant.

Eligibility Criteria Gujarat MGY
To avail benefits of the Manav Garima Yojana, the beneficiaries must satisfy the following points to be able to apply for the scheme. Relevant documentation must also be kept prepared while applying for the scheme to prove eligibility.
- Interested beneficiaries must be the residing citizens of the state of Gujarat.
- The applicants must bear a Scheduled Castes, SC category Caste Certificate under their names.
- The applicants must belong to the category of BPL.
- The net family income of the beneficiary must be less than Rs. 47,000 (rural areas) and Rs. 60,000 (urban areas) per annum.

Online Procedure at esamajkalyan.gujarat.gov.in
The beneficiaries can submit their online application forms for the scheme through the SJE (Social Justice and Empowerment Department) official portal. The application process via online mode has been discussed below.
Stage I: Register Yourself
Step 1:- Firstly, you must visit the official website of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Gujarat. You will find the “Register Yourself“ tab on the homepage as shown. Click on the tab.
Step 2:- On clicking on the tab, the following screen will appear. Feed all the correct details in the assigned fields and click on the “Register“ button at last.
Step 3:- Verify your details before clicking on the “Confirm“ button. If all the information is correct, you have successfully registered yourself to apply for the scheme.
Step 4:- An SMS alert regarding your user ID and password will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID. Save the message for future references.
Stage II: Login and Update Profile
Step 5:- The next step is to log in and update the profile with other important information. On the right side of the homepage of the website, there is a “Citizen Login“ section. Fill in all the required details, such as User ID, password, and captcha code to log in.
Step 6:- The following form will be displayed on the screen. Enter the requisite information and upload your recent photograph. At last, click on the “Update” option.
Stage III: Apply for the scheme
Step 7:- After successfully updating your profile, you will be redirected to the following page where you need to choose the “Manav Garima Yojana” option to apply for the scheme.
Step 8:- A page containing the guidelines to apply for Manav Garima Yojana will appear. Read those guidelines and related instructions very carefully.
Step 9:- Click the “OK“ button available at the end of the pop-up window.
Stage IV: Submit your Application
Step 10:- Fill the application form providing your personal as well as educational details.
Step 11:- Finally, submit your application form attaching all the supporting documents.
The Government of Gujarat has also made provisions to apply for the scheme in an offline manner. The candidates need to download the application form and submit the same, duly filled to the concerned authorities. Check the complete offline application procedure described underneath.
Step 1:- To apply through the offline method, you must visit the official website of SJE Gujarat. Click on the “Schemes“ tab available on the homepage.
Step 2:- Select the option of Scheduled Castes from the drop-down menu and click on “Find“.
Step 3:- Search for the Manav Garima Yojana under the Economic Prosperity section. Click on the link.
Step 4:- A new page regarding the scheme will appear. On the top of the page, there will be a link named “Form“. Click on that link.
Step 5:- Search for the Application form for Manav Garima Yojana. Click on the“Download” link available against the title Manav Garima Yojana Application Form.
Step 6:- Take a printout of the application form.
Step 7:- Fill in the application form very precisely. Attach all the supporting documents along.
Step 8:- Submit the application form to the concerned authorities.

The beneficiaries who wish to apply for the Manav Garima Scheme must present some documents to prove their eligibility and legitimacy. - Click on the icon “Your Application Status“.
- After that, a new page will be displayed on the screen.
- Enter your application number and date of birth.
- Click on સ્થિતિ જુઓ or See Status.
- You can now check the status of your application through the information displayed on the screen.

The applicants can withdraw their applications from further processes. This can be the scenario when the beneficiary does not wish to apply for the scheme anymore or does not possess enough documentation to prove his/her eligibility. The procedure to withdraw the application of the Manav Garima Scheme is discussed below.
- Log in to your SJE account through the SJE official portal.
- Once logged in, click on the option of “Withdraw Application” as highlighted in the image below.
- A list of schemes that you have applied for will appear.
- Select the scheme you wish to opt-out from or withdraw the application of.
- A confirmatory message will pop-up on the screen.
- Select “Yes” and your application will be withdrawn successfully.
How to retrieve forgotten Password and User ID?
The applicants often forget their user IDs and passwords. If you are one of them, there is no need to worry anymore. Follow the procedures mentioned below to retrieve your forgotten password and user ID for SJE profiles.
Step 1:- On the homepage of the SJE official portal, search for the “Citizen Login” section on the right-hand side. Click on the link “Forgot Password?”
Step 2:- When you click on the link, the following screen will be displayed. Enter your User ID. A six-digit OTP will be forwarded to your registered mobile number.
Step 3:- Fill in the sent OTP and type your new password. Confirm your new password by rewriting it in the space provided. Finally, hit the “Reset Password” button.
Step 4:-The following message regarding the successful change of password will appear on the screen.
Forgot User ID
Step 1:- Search for the “Citizen Login” section on the right-hand side of the homepage of the official SJE portal. A link named “Forgot User ID” will be available next to “Forgot Password?”. Click on the link.
Step 2:- Fill in the required details, such as your Aadhar Number and date of birth. Click on “Get User ID”.
Step 3:- Your SJE user ID will be sent via an SMS to your registered mobile number. Note down the User ID and log in using the same.
How to Change Manav Garima Yojana Password?
The applicants can change the password of their SJE profiles in a very easy manner. To check the password, the applicants must follow the procedure described underneath.
Step 1:- Firstly, the applicants need to log in to their respective SJE accounts. Once logged in, select the option of “Change Password” under the “Welcome, your name“ tab available on the right side of the page.
Step 2:- Write your current and new password in the space provided. Confirm the new password by rewriting in the field against Confirm password. Click “Submit”.
Step 3:- The following window will pop up on the screen after the successful change of password. The registered candidates will now log in to their profiles with their new passwords.
How to Update SJE Profile?
The applicants who wish to edit or update their profiles with new information can follow the simple procedure to make changes in their respective SJE accounts.
Step 1:- Firstly, the applicants need to log in to their respective SJE accounts. Once logged in, select the option of “View Profile” under the “Welcome, your name“ tab available on the right side of the page.
Step 2:- Edit the details you wish to rectify. Click “Update”.
Step 3:- Your profile is updated. You can check your updated profile under view profile anytime.
