AP YSR Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme
On 28th February 2020, the Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated a scheme, YSR Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme. The scheme will support the academically excellent students of the state with annual aid of up to Rs. 20,000. The sanctioned amount will help these scholars to pay their tuition fee for the degree/ ITI/ polytechnic level courses. The food and hostel expenses will also be covered under the scheme.
At the launch event, the CM deposited Rs 1048.94 crores in the bank accounts of the mothers of 1089302 students for the year 2020-21. With the launch of the scheme, the state envisions strengthening the education sector of the state and yield a better economy thereafter.

Benefits
The scheme was launched with the aim to strengthen the education sector of the state and reduce the dropout rate after school. To achieve the same, the govt of AP offers many benefits under the YSR Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme.
- Financial assistance up to Rs. 20,000 per annum to the selected list of beneficiaries.
- In addition, the scheme will bear the food and hostel expenses of such students.
- Students pursuing any UG/ Industrial Training Institute / Polytechnic courses will be covered under the scheme.

Eligibility of JVD Application
Only the students who fulfil the following set eligibility standards will be able to avail themselves of the scheme benefits. Check the list below.
- Interested students must be permanent residents of the AP state.
- The students must have enrolled in any Degree/ ITI/ polytechnic course.
- The annual family income of the applying student must not exceed the value of Rs. 2.5 lakhs.
- Also, the total land owned by the family must be less than
- 10 acres for wetland
- 25 acres for dry land
- 25 acres for wetland + dry land
- There must no income tax payee in the family.
- None of the family members should be current/ ex-government employee.
- Excluding commercial taxi, tractors, autos, the family must not own any four-wheeled motor vehicle.
- In municipal areas, not more than 1500 sq. feet built area must be owned by the applicant’s family.
