Eligibility Criteria of SHRESHTA Scheme 2024

Required Documents to Upload in the Application Form

  • Passport-Sized Photographs
    • The image file size should lie between 10 kb to 200 kb and must be uploaded in JPG or JPEG format.
    • Applicants who use spectacles regularly can upload an image of them wearing them.
    • If any picture is uploaded in Polaroid or computer-generated one will not be accepted.
    • No application without a photograph will be accepted.
  • Specimen Signature
    • Applicants must provide their signatures in running hand using a black pen on clear white paper. 
    • The signature must not be done in capital letters.
    • The size of the signature file should lie between 4 to 30 kb in jpg or jpeg format. 
    • Applications received without signature will not be considered.
  • Category Certificate/ Undertaking
    • The size of both files must lie between 50 to 300 kb in pdf format only.
    • No application with these certificates will be considered.
  • Income Certificate
    • The attachment of the income certificate is an option and can be shown at the time of the document verification process.
    • The size of the file must not be lower than 50 kb and higher than 300 kb. It must be uploaded in the pdf format.

SHRESHTA Selection Process

In the following paragraph, we are going to understand the whole selection process adopted by the authority to select candidates for the SHRESHTA Scheme. Below is the detailed process:

Application Process

The officials started the process by releasing a notification that notifies the interested candidates about the application process. The notification will include the application process dates. Afterward, the officials will attach the online application link to the SHRESHTA NTA portal.

Applicants will be able to access it and apply for the scheme after submitting the application form. The authority is going to conduct the application process for a limited period. After the deadline, the officials are not going to accept any applications. Once, the application process is concluded, the authority will evaluate the applications and accept the eligible ones for further processes.

Issuance of Admit Card

After the application process, the concerned authority will provide the admit card to the candidates provisionally if they will fulfill the eligibility conditions. Applicants will have to download the admit card by visiting the SHRESHTA NTA portal. There will be an exam date and timing written on the admit card. No candidates will get permission to appear for the exam if they do not carry the admit card.

SHRESHTA NETS 

The officials will conduct the National Entrance Test for the Scheme to select eligible candidates. All candidates who will receive the admit card will be allowed to appear for the NETS. The officials will conduct the exam in one paper consisting of a total of four sections. Those four sections will be Mathematics, Social Science, General Awareness/ Knowledge and Science.

The officials will conduct the exam to provide admission in some of the best private residential schools available under Residential Education for High School students in targeted areas. The whole question paper will be based on the NCERT syllabus of Class 8th for Class 9 admission and Class 10 for Class 11 admission.

Publication of the Result

After the completion of the exam, the officials will take some days to evaluate every answer sheet carefully. After the evaluation, the officials will provide the results to candidates on the official website of the NTA. Applicants will have to provide their login credentials to check the respective scores scored in the exam.

Candidates are informed that the officials are not going to consider requests for re-evaluation of answer sheets. Candidates who will score the cut-off marks or more than the cut-off marks will be considered for the next stage of the selection process. Make sure that the printed particulars in the result are correct to avoid post-process delay.

Counselling Process

Afterwards, all shortlisted candidates will be called for the counselling process. The officials usually conduct two rounds of counselling. The number might increase or decrease according to the availability of seats. Shortlisted aspirants will first have to register themselves online for the counselling process.

They will also have to choose the schools after the registration process. After that, the authority will release the allotment result. The allotment result can be accessed after the successful login. Now, candidates satisfied with the allotment result will have to appear at the allotted school and complete the admission process.

“If the officials observe that there are several vacant seats in any categories of class 9 and 11 admissions then they will adjust the same towards the other category if there will be the availability of other eligible students in the particular category.”

SHRESHTRA Scholarship for Students

Selected students will also be getting scholarships as prescribed by the officials for the respective scheme. The scholarship offered to students will cover the school fee and hostel fee. It will include the tuition fee and mess charges as well as subject to the highest limit as mentioned below:

The scholarship amount mentioned above is applicable for per student per year. The amount of the scholarship towards the hostel and tuition fee will be disbursed by the officials according to actual charges by the respective school. Or, the prescribed limit which is provided in the above table. Preference will be given to the amount which will be less. Beneficiaries will not be asked for any fee or other charges by SHRESHTA School.

The concerned authority is going to release the scholarship amount in a single installment directly into the account of the respective school by using the e-Anudaan Portal of the ministry online mode. The amount released of the scholarship for the following years will be subject to the furnished Utilized Certificate according to the GFR provisions.

SHRESHTA Scheme NETS Exam Pattern

The officials are going to conduct the examination in offline mode i.e., with pen and paper. The question paper will be provided to candidates in English and Hindi language. The officials will consider the NCERT Class 8 Syllabus for admission into Class 9 and the NCERT Class 10 Syllabus for admission to Class 11. The authority is going to award 4 marks for correct or most appropriate answers.

No marks will be awarded for incorrect answers or unanswered questions. Applicants will be allowed to carry a copy of the admit card, a passport-sized photograph, and any photo identification card such as an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, driver’s license, and others. Do not carry any electronic devices to avoid cancellation of candidature.
