Assam Employee Health Assurance Scheme 2023: The Government of Assam launches the scheme for the employees of the state. It is a health insurance scheme for residents who are employees of the state government. The scheme was launched on the 1st of February 2020 promising insurance cover of INR 3 lakh to the employees and their families.

Assam Employee Health Assurance Scheme (EHAS)
The Assam Employee Health Assurance Scheme is for employees working under the Government of Assam. The scheme will cover about 4.3 Lakh employees under the state government. It will cover all the newly recruited employees as well.
The insurance covered under the scheme will include all types of health hazards to government employees under the state. The cover will also include treatment under insurance for Corona Virus. The premium for the insurance will be paid by the State Government only.
The premium will be paid for all the working/ in-office government employees and pensioners in the scheme. Although the pensioners will be covered under the scheme in the upcoming years. So, they are not included in the cover yet but will be in the future.
Who can be the beneficiary of the Scheme?
- Any Civil Service Officer working under Assam Government temporarily.
- All types of Government Employees.
- Newly Recruited Employees.
- Pensioned Employees under the state.
- The applicant willing to be a beneficiary under the scheme must be a native of Assam State.
Assam Health Assurance Scheme Benefits
The insurance package will finally be released by the Health and Family Welfare Department under the state. The beneficiary will be able to avail of all these benefits under the empanelled hospitals. Some of the benefits of this scheme are:

Any type of Outpatient Treatment will not be covered under this scheme. All the benefits under the package are covered under two heads. These are:

Registration
As of now, there are no notifications on the implementation and enrollment of the employees by the Government of Assam. The employees of the state do not have to undergo any kind of registration process to be a beneficiary under the scheme. The state employee will automatically be covered under this scheme. He will automatically be enrolled under the scheme as soon as he joins the office.
