YSR Pelli Kanuka Scheme
The Andhra Pradesh Government is set to provide monetary benefits to all married/ newly married couples. The scheme will be for all couples who register their marriage through the Special Marriage Act. The brides will get the benefit amount as an effort to support the family. The state government terms it as a wedding gift to new couples. The basic aim of the government is to help poor families in the state.
In addition to this, such procedures for marriage registration will help to efficiently abolish child marriage illegally. The government is working with the motto to protect/ empower the girl child by promoting compulsory marriage registrations. The poor girl marriage scheme also ensures the financial security of the girl even after the marriage.
The state government is allocating a fund of Rs. 750 Crore for the scheme. It is estimated that more than five thousand couples will be the beneficiaries of the scheme. The government is also promising enhanced emoluments for the scheme in the election manifesto of the YCP party. The party has also increased the gift amount for the construction workers to 1 Lakh under the scheme. The amount was earlier of Rs. 20,000.

- The remaining benefit amount will be transferred to the account of the benefit after the marriage.

VELUGU Mandal Office- Registration under the office must be made before 5 days of the marriage date. The applicant can visit the Mahila Mandal Samkhyas/ VELUGU. Registration-cum-Help Desks are available in the office to help the applicants register easily.
