The central government offers the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for the country farmers with the same purpose as the PIK Nuskan Bharpai Yojana for the state of Maharashtra. The scheme was announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister himself. He also introduced the various technology-based agricultural practices through the scheme.

PIK Vima Yojana targets farmers across the state and tends to help them in their difficult times of crop failure. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, such as hailstorms, unseasonal rainfall, drought, pest attack or crop disease, there might be an extreme loss of the grown crops. If this happens, there will be a huge economic loss for the farmers as well as the state. The scheme provides help during such harsh and stern conditions. Consequently, the affected farmers will have a source of income and will not be completely shattered. Further, the scheme enables the farmers to grow and learn the new and modern methods of agricultural practices. As a  result, the agricultural sector of the state is flourishing.

Compensation Details

• A compensation amount of Rs. 8 lakh will be granted to the farmer’s family if a farmer dies because of an animal attack.
• If during the animal attack the farmer is injured severely, financial aid of Rs. 15000 will be offered to the farmer.
• 40-50% of the total crop loss amount will be sanctioned to the farmer in case it is destroyed by an animal.
• Compensation at the rate of Rs. 800, Rs. 4800, Rs. 2800 per metre tonne will be allocated to farmers if their crop destroyed is sugarcane, coconut tree, or betel nut respectively.
• The government will pay relevant compensation in case of damage to the mango trees.

Nuksan Bharpai Form Eligibility Criteria

All the farmers of the state of Maharashtra are entitled to avail themselves of the benefits of the PIK Nukshan Bharpai or Vima Yojana. Some of the essential eligibility conditions that need to be fulfilled by the applicants are enlisted below.

• The applicant must be engaged in the farming profession.
• He/ She should be a native of the Maharashtra state.
• The major source of income in the family must be via the agriculture sector.
• The applying farmer must belong to the BPL category.

Application procedure to PIK Vima Yojana in Maharashtra?

Interested applicants can apply for the PIK Nuksan Bharpai Yojana in online as well as offline mode. If you wish to apply in an offline manner, you must go to the District office. However, for the online mode, you need to visit the online portal of Krishi Maharashtra. Register yourself on the portal and apply for the same by submitting a PIK Nuksan Bharpai form online. After the successful submission of the application form, the authorities will verify and proceed accordingly. The scheme benefits can be availed only by the selected list of beneficiaries under the PIK Vima Yojana.

The Department of Agriculture publishes the beneficiary list online on the official website of the Krishi Maharashtra Portal. To check the same, follow the procedure below.

Step I:- First of all, the applicants need to go to the official website of the Maharashtra Krishi Portal. The homepage will open as follows.

Step II:- Scroll down the page and click on the “Pradhan Mantri PIK Vima Yojana- Beneficiary List (प्रधानमंत्री पिक विमा योजना-लाभार्थी यादी)” icon.

Step III:- From the page that opens, click on the relevant link to view the beneficiary list of the PIK Vima/ Nuksan Bharpai Yojana.
