Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana 2024
The yojana is going to cover the eligible candidates from all unorganized workers as the list approved of unorganized industries and self-employes occupations which are notified by the Department of Labour, Government of West Bengal timely along with the transport and construction workers. To help the enrolled beneficiaries more, the government of the state has also decided to waive the contribution of Rs. 25 per month for the provident funds’ subscription payment.
The authority has also decided to contribute the same amount to the beneficiaries from 1 April 2020. Previously, the scheme was known as Samajik Suraksha Yojana. However, it was renamed as Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana. Provident Fund
- Selected unorganized workers will have to contribute Rs. 25/- every month towards the provident fund account.
- The government of the state will get the matching amount of Rs. 30/- against the contribution made by the workers.
- The government of the state will be responsible for bearing the interest which needs to be paid at the interest rate at which the officials allowed the interest on the deposit under the provident fund of the government by the officials from time to time.
- If any of the beneficiaries complete the age of 60 years or they are discontinued as subscribers for the scheme or even the event of an account becomes incoperative because of death then the total amount along with the interest submitted by the beneficiaries will be refunded to the worker or selected nominee.
- The concerned authority will close the account of the subscribers who will not make any contribution towards the scheme for 4 financial years continuously.
- Subscribers can revive these accounts by submitting an application stating the genuine reason behind not paying the payment to the Assistant Labour Commissioner.
- The authority will not allow any kind of arrear contribution.
Health and Family Welfare
- The beneficiaries or their family members will get Rs. 20,000 under the West Bengal Health Scheme for the alignment. This amount will help beneficiaries in hospitalization or even outdoor treatment. The benefits are going to be provided for:
- Cost for full clinical test
- Cost for full medicine test
- Cost for full hospitalization
- In case of loss of employment to the beneficiaries, the amount will be provided at a rate of Rs. 1000 for the initial five days, along with the additional amount of Rs. 100 per day or the rest of the day till the cost reaches Rs. 10,000/-
- Beneficiaries and their family members can apply for a claim more than once yearly.
- However, please note that the total amount for assistance will not exceed Rs. 20,000 per annum.
- The officials are entitled to provide financial assistance of Rs. 60,000 per annum to the beneficiaries and their family members. This amount will be provided on account of any kind of surgery.
- If any beneficiary gets hospitalized for five or more days after meeting with an accident, then the officials are going to provide a payment of all employment loss. Beneficiaries themselves can ask for this kind of claim.
Death and Disability
- In case any beneficiary of the scheme dies due to an accident, then the authority will provide Rs. 200000 to the selected nominee.
- If any beneficiary dies because of natural reasons, then the officials will provide Rs. 50,000 to the selected nominee.
- If any candidate becomes PWD with more than 40% disability, then the officials will provide 50,000 to those beneficiaries.
- In case, any candidates face irrecoverable loss of both eyes or both hands or feet or eyesight then the officials will provide Rs. 200000
- The officials will provide Rs, 100000 to candidates who lose sight of one eye or lose a hand/ foot which is irrecoverable.
Education
- Children who are a part of the scheme will get financial assistance for education according to the following categories:
- Studying in 11 Class: Rs. 4,000 per annum
- Studying in 12 Class: Rs. 5,000 per annum
- Studying ITI: Rs. 6,000 per annum
- Undergraduate Students: Rs. 6,000 per annum
- Postgraduate Students: Rs. 10,000 per annum
- Studying Polytechnic: Rs. 10,000 per annum
- Studying mechanical/ Engineering: Rs. 30,000 per annum
- In case, a daughter completes her undergraduate or equivalent studies then the officials will provide Rs. 25,000 as financial assistance. Please note that the financial assistance will be provided for two daughters only. The scheme is applicable only if the daughter remains unmarried till she completes her studies.
- Applicants who have got selected for the Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme will be allowed to participate in this scheme.
- Students must be studying in a state or central government-recognised university or any institute recognized by the government.
- Applicants who will get selected for this scheme will not be able to apply for other scholarship schemes.
