National Apprenticeship Training Scheme
National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) is a government-sponsored training programme to help graduate and diploma students in the field of engineering to enhance their vocational and technical skills.
It is a one-year training programme, in which the apprentices are paid a nominal NATS stipend by the government. After the successful completion of their respective training programmes, the apprentices are will be rewarded with an Apprentice Certificate issued by the Government of India.
NATS Portal is the digital platform to operate the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme electronically. It provides access to various e-services checked and governed by the Board of Apprenticeship Training or Board of Practical Training.
NATS BOAT and NATS BOPT are the two authorities that are responsible for reviewing and administering the training programs run under the National Apprenticeship Training scheme.

Who Can Apply for NATS (eligibility)?
Following is the list of NATS eligibility criteria, which is mandatory to be satisfied in order to apply for the NATS apprenticeship. Check below:-
- Interested candidates must have qualified high school/ intermediate/ graduation with at least 40% of marks.
- The applicants for apprenticeship training must be above 16 years of age.
- The applicants must belong to the Indian nationality.
- No self-employed or business candidate will be allowed to apply for the scheme.
- The applicants must not be employed in any private or government sector of the country.
Registration Process for NATS portal
To avail of the benefits of the scheme, the candidates register or enrol themselves in the MHRD NATS portal via online mode. The procedure for National Apprenticeship Training enrollment is very easy and simple. We have discussed the complete process on how to register in the NATS portal. Follow the procedure below for MHRD NATS registration and enrollment.
Stage 1: Eligibility Check
Step 1:- Firstly, the candidates must visit the official website of NATS – link provided below. On the homepage, you will find a button, named Enroll. Click on that.
Step 2:- The following page will appear on the screen. Click on the drop-down arrow against “ I am _____”.
Step 3:- Choose the suitable option from the options of Student, Institution and Establishment. Here, to demonstrate we have chosen the option of a Student. Feed all the details as asked.
If you satisfy the terms and conditions as per the scheme, you will be considered eligible to enroll. Otherwise you will not be able to proceed further in the process.
Step 4:- A list of the documents required during the process is generated. Make sure to keep them handy for enrollment. If all your documents are ready and prepared, click on “I’ve above data” and continue.
Step 5:- This is the verification step. Here, you need to verify your email ID and mobile number using the OTP sent.
After successful verification of both email ID and phone number, you will have to feed your name and generate a password for your NATS login according to the prescribed specifications.
Stage 2: Questionnaire and Guidelines
Step 6:- In stage 2 of the NATS registration login, a list of NATS guidelines and terms & conditions will appear on the screen. Read them carefully.
Step 7:- Mark the tick in the declaration checkbox available at the end of the page. Click on “Agree and Continue”.
Stage 3: Enrollment Form
Step 8:- Stage three of the NATS enrollment is to fill the NATS enrollment form. The form will cover 47% of your personal information that is your name, Aadhar number, date of birth, community, address, contact details etc. 13% of the form will include your educational details, for example, your course, your marks obtained in the graduation or diploma, etc. The rest of the form will include your information based on your training preferences.

Stage 4: Preview and Confirm
Step 9:- After filling the enrollment form, the candidate must preview his/her application form and rectify the errors if any. After that, the candidate must hit on the “Submit” button available at the end of the page.
With this, your NATS MHRD registration is complete.

How to login to NATS Portal?
After the successful enrollment in the NATS portal, you can anytime visit your MHRD NATS login portal and check the latest updates. You can also edit your NATS profile and change your password. Check the procedure given below for MHRD NATS portal login.
Step 1:- First of all, the registered candidates need to visit the official website of the NATS. Click on the “Login” button as highlighted in the image below.
Step 2:- A new NATS login page will appear on the screen. You can now login to your NATS account by feeding the information, such as your NATS Enrollment number and your password. Lastly, enter the captcha code in the space provided and click on “Login”.
Step 3:- After your NATS portal login, you can update your profile, change the password and check the latest updates.
How to Retrieve Forgotten Password?
If you have lost your password, you can still log in to your NATS ID using the simple procedure described underneath.
- Click on the “Forgot Password?“
- Provide your NATS user ID, registered mobile number or email ID. Enter the captcha code in the box available. Click on “Submit”.
- The authorities will send you a password on your email ID or your mobile number.
- Login using that password and change it accordingly once you get logged in.
How to Change NATS Password?
- To change the NATS login password, the applicants must select the “Change password” option available under Hi, ‘your name‘ on the left side of the homepage.
- Type your old password and new password.
- Click “Submit” at last.

NATS Certificate Download online process
After completion of your apprenticeship, you will be issued a COP (Certificate of Proficiency) by the Government of India. To download the COP, follow the following steps.
- Login to your MHRD NATS portal, by feeding in your NATS user ID and password.
- Your NATS profile will appear on the screen.
- At the bottom of the page, you will find a COP section.
- Download from the link available under the COP section.
- Your COP will be downloaded to your system in the pdf format.
List of Industries Under NATS
Apprentices can check the list of industries registered under the NATS portal. Like students, industries also have to register themselves to offer apprentices to the young talent under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme. To check the list of industries, follow the procedure described below.
1. On the homepage of NATS Portal, you will find an “Industries“ tab. Click on it.
2. On the right side of the page that appears, there is a section called Info Corner. Click on the “List of Industries“ under the section.
3. Select your region and the list of industries registered under NATS will be displayed on the screen.
